Pochettino: Kane is ‘one of the best strikers in the world’
Mauricio Pochettino has hailed Tottenham striker Harry Kane as “one of the best strikers in the world” after victory over Stoke on Sunday.
Spurs demolished Stoke 4-0 in the Premier League with Kane bagging a first-half hat-trick before laying the ball on a plate for Dele Alli to grab the fourth.
On the overall display, the Argentinian said: “It was a fantastic performance. It was a good response from the team,” said Pochettino.
“Ten points is a big gap [to Chelsea] – but we keep going and believe. We try to put on pressure.”
When asked about Kane’s performance and hat-trick, Pochettino said: “He’s playing at a very good level. He’s one of the best strikers in the world. He deserves it because he’s a great professional.”
Pochettino was also delighted with the “good reponse” from Alli, who was sent off in their Europa League match in midweek.
“Dele is very mature and a great boy. I am very pleased for him, he had a difficult few days but it was a good response. He was fantastic on the pitch.”
