Mauricio Pochettino believes that Harry Kane will score 25 goals again this season.
Kane has struggled for form at the start of this season, with his England performances coming under particular scrutiny.
However, Kane suffered a similar mini-drought at the start of last season and recovered to become the Premier League’s Golden Boot winner.
Pochettino is confident of a repeat in that pattern.
“I’d sign up again for him to have the same season where he starts late to score and then scores 25 goals,” Pochettino said.
“He always needs to be calm, it’s always difficult when you come from the Euros and the expectation from him is massive – every ball he touches, we all wait for him to score goals.
“It’s difficult when you need to be fit and give your best.
“It’s about patience, time, hard work from him and I’m sure he will start to score again.”
Pochettino also spoke about Christian Eriksen’s new contract:
“I think it’s important for him, for the club and for us to stop the rumours and be focused on playing football only.
“It’s good for him, it’s good for the club and we are all happy.”
