Mauricio Pochettino personally contacted Estudiantes’ Juan Foyth to persuade him to join Tottenham, according to reports.
ESPN’s PSG correspondent Jonathan Johnson claims that the French club ‘looked likely to beat Spurs to the promising Argentine’ until Pochettino persuaded the 19-year-old to join him in north London.
Centre-half Foyth is likely to be joined at Tottenham by Serge Aurier, who will join the club for £23m as soon as he can prove that he has successfully appealed against a two-month prison sentence.
Aurier will sign a five-year deal and will replace Kyle Walker at right-back, which will be a blow to Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker-Peters.
Serge Aurier is the best player Spurs could sign to replace Kyle Walker, football-wise. Modern box to box fullback who can attack and defend

Trippier was poor against Chelsea on Sunday, with Tottenham missing the attacking thrust of Walker.
