Mauricio Pochettino has outlined Tottenham’s transfer plans with one week of the summer window remaining.

Tottenham have signed two players thus far – Davinson Sanchez and Paulo Gazzaniga – after making the slowest start of any Premier League side.

The club continue to be linked with a raft of other players, including Serge Aurier, Juan Foyth and Ross Barkley.

Pochettino is planning on making at least three more signings in the final week of the window.

“I wanted four players before, I said? One keeper plus four!” he joked. “Maybe three more now.

“Yes I am confident,” Pochettino said when asked about the possibility of more signings. “We are working hard to change the squad and bring more players in.

“From our chairman Daniel [Levy] and Steve [Hitchen], our chief scout, we’re trying to find the right profile. We are working hard to strengthen the squad.”

The manager is also open to selling members of his first-team squad, with Kevin Wimmer, Vincent Janssen and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou linked with departures.

“We need to sign a few more players, and a few players need to leave the club. They need to feel they can play more, and they want to play more. That is a normal period in every club.”
