The agent of Paul Pogba has rubbished the most recent claims regarding his client’s protracted move to Manchester United.

Pogba’s future has been one of the main talking points of the summer, with the Juventus midfielder attracting interest from both Manchester United and Real Madrid.

It was reported early on Thursday morning by French newspaper L’Equipe that United had agreed a world-record fee – thought to be £92m – to sign the midfielder this summer.

United manager Jose Mourinho was asked to give his thoughts on the 23-year-old’s future and the most recent reports, with the Portuguese saying: “I don’t confirm and I don’t deny [that we have agreed to sign Pogba]. I cannot tell.

“First of all, because I don’t think it’s correct to speak about players from other clubs. He’s a Juventus player not a Manchester United player.

“We have three players to fill that profile. I am really confident that Mr Woodward and the owners will bring me that profile of player.”

Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, took to Twitter to give his own verdict on the latest claims.
