Paul Pogba was handed his second Manchester United debut as Jose Mourinho’s side took on Southampton at Old Trafford.
The world’s most expensive player, who returned to United in a £89million deal this summer, was suspended for last weekend’s season opener at Bournemouth.
Mourinho said on Thursday he did not expect Pogba to complete a full 90 minutes but thrust him straight into his starting XI in place of Ander Herrera.
There was a clue for fans that the 23-year-old would be in the side as he graced the cover of the matchday programme.
The club also hailed Pogba’s selection on their official Twitter feed, posting a graphic of the midfielder alongside the #Pogback hashtag.
