Pogba: If Griezmann moves to Man City then ‘I will handle it’

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba can “handle it” if Antoine Griezmann chose to move to Manchester City this summer, as long as his close friend is happy.

The Atletico Madrid star has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford to join up with his international team-mate, however it now appears he is likely to remain at the new Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

Griezmann signed a new long-term contract at the club earlier this month to take him through until 2022, while the Spanish media claim the deal makes him the highest-paid player in the club’s history on a whopping €14 million ($15.7m) annual salary.

And Pogba doesn’t mind what Griezmann decides in the future as long as he is happy with his decisions, while also wishing Zlatan Ibrahimovic all the best too.

“I wish for his happiness,” Griezmann told Telefoot. “If that is at Atletico — or at City — I will handle it. He is one of the best players in the world.

“If Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] is happy elsewhere, then I am happy for him.

“For my first season we got three trophies and a place in the Champions League which was the main objective. I’m going to the Champions League, that’s what I wanted.

“Next year, the objective is the Premier League. There is also the Champions League and we will have to give that proper attention.”
