PSG have scheduled a meeting with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte next week, with a view to replacing Unai Emery.
Emery’s future in Paris is under significant doubt after his far-too-meek approach to the club’s Champions League last-16 tie with Real Madrid was exposed.
The Parisiens lost 3-1 in the first leg in Spain and 2-1 in the second leg in France as they tumbled out of the competition.
Conte is the favourite to replace Emery, who L’Equipe report will definitely leave in the summer.
The French newspaper also report that PSG have ‘probed the brother of the Italian coach’. Which sounds awfully painful.
The claim is that ‘contact’ has been ‘established’ between the two parties, and PSG are hopeful of appointing Conte as Emery’s successor.
PSG will hold a meeting with Conte next week, by which point the Italian’s own future at Chelsea could become more clear as they face Barcelona in the second leg of a last-16 tie finely poised at 1-1.
