Harry Kane is like Robert Lewandowski. Or Diego Costa. Or Ruud van Nistelrooy. Or Raul. Depending on who you listen to. And whether you decide to listen to them.
Kane extended his fine September run with two goals in Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.
The striker has now scored six goals and assisted a further two in his last four games for club and country.
Craig Bellamy compared the 24-year-old to legendary Real Madrid striker Raul when speaking to Sky Sports.
“When Kane first broke onto the scene he reminded me of Raul,” said the Welshman.
“He’s not lightning quick, he’s very clever in his movement, he understands where he needs to be and he can create half a yard from anything.
“Raul is incredible and will always remain incredible but Kane has got similar traits to where he was, he’s that type of forward.
“If Kane can stay on this path, he’s the only current player who can threaten Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record.”
Phil Neville waded in, not content with comparing Kane to only one striker. After likening his talents to that of Robert Lewandowski, the pundit decided that the Tottenham forward bares the hallmarks of two others.
“He’s got the killer instinct of Ruud Van Nistelrooy, but he runs around and bullies defenders like Diego Costa,” Neville told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“He is the most complete centre forward I’ve seen for a long time.”
