BT Sport pundits Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand hailed Mousa Dembele’s performance in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Juventus.
Spurs made the worst possible start to the Champions League last-16 clash in Turin, going two goals down within nine minutes.
However, the north London staged a brilliant comeback through goals from Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen to grab two away goals to take back to Wembley for the second leg.
And it was the midfield engine room performance of Dembele that really caught the eye of BT Sport pundit and former Liverpool star Steven Gerrard.

“I thought (Mousa) Dembele’s performance was magnificent,” Gerrard said. “I can’t remember him putting in a performance like that on that stage. I thought he was terrific all night.”
And it was an opinion shared by Ferdinand with the former Manchester United and England defender impressed by the way Dembele dictated the game.
“Dembele was a player who people were looking at and saying he doesn’t create enough, he doesn’t do this, he doesn’t score,’ Ferdinand said.
“He’s been withdrawn in that midfield to dictate the tempo of a game and he is doing that better than anyone at the moment.”
