Rashford identifies teammates he’s learned from most

Marcus Rashford says he has learned the most from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney at Manchester United.

Rashford broke through at United last February, and has spent the ensuing 11 months in the first-team picture at Old Trafford.

He is more of a squad player than a regular starter under Jose Mourinho, but has done admirably, scoring six goals and assisting two in 26 appearances.

Speaking at a Nike boot launch in Munich, the striker has revealed which two teammates at club and international level have influenced him more than any other.

“I’d probably have to say Zlatan and Rooney are the two that stand out the most,” he said.

“Obviously, growing up I was watching Rooney play week in, week out at Old Trafford since I was young, so they’re the two you look at and try to emulate.

On Ibrahimovic, the 19-year-old added: “For the young players coming up, to see his character and the way he approaches every game and his mentality, it’s invaluable. Some players just can’t bring that when they move clubs.

“I think we have to just try and learn from him whilst he’s here. It’s just one of those moments where we just try and take what we can out of his game.”
