Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois insists he will be at the club next year instead of joining Real Madrid.

Courtois has been linked with a move to Real over the past few seasons, with the Belgian eager to return to Madrid one day.

The keeper played for Atletico Madrid for three years, and has a young family in the Spanish capital.

But the 25-year-old insists he will see out of his current contract at Stamford Bridge at the very least, with his deal expiring in summer 2019.

“I am still proud to play at Chelsea and I want to achieve success,” Courtois told Sporza.

“I have one year [left on my] contract and feel good at Chelsea, at the end of the season we will sit down together and set out a vision.

“I know that I will be at Chelsea next year as well.

“If I go to the World Cup with a clear idea, sign or wait another year, then I have a clear head at the tournament.”
