Relax, United fans, Rooney isn’t injured. Oh.

Louis van Gaal says that he brought Wayne Rooney off because he was limping, but that the striker is not injured.

Rooney was brought off in the 68th minute after another dire performance. He completed 11 passes in Leicester’s half all game, and again looked sluggish. You might have noticed that this is becoming a theme.

“No, I don’t think it’s an injury to Wayne,” Van Gaal said after the game.

“I wanted to change one of the strikers. It could have been [Anthony] Martial or it could have been Rooney because they were not always running behind the central defenders, and I want that.

“Because of this, I wanted to change but then he was limping and then the choice was easy for me to make.”

Well thank goodness for that. Wouldn’t want to be without their captain fantastic.
