Report: Liverpool still interested in R Madrid keeper
Liverpool want to solve their goalkeeping problem with the acquisition of Keylor Navas, claims a report in Spain.
Diario Gol claim that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants the 31-year-old out of the club and Liverpool have again emerged as potential suitors.
Jurgen Klopp is looking for a new no.1 after dropping Simon Mignolet, who looks set to leave Anfield in the summer.
Loris Karius has emerged again as Klopp’s preferred choice after Mignolet allowed Granit Xhaka’s speculative shot squirm past him just before Christmas.
“After all that has happened this season, I know where I am at and the situation has become clearer,” Mignolet said.
“Klopp told me honestly and personally in that conversation. Of course I am absolutely not satisfied with that, but I must always respect a decision of the coach.”
Costa Rica keeper Navas, 31, has been linked with Reds before. The same source, in November, claimed he was on Klopp’s wanted list, while the Spanish outlet have also previously claimed Arsenal are looking at Navas.
Navas has made 16 La Liga starts and is Zinedine Zidane’s no. 1, but the player’s agent is believed to be looking for a new club, with Navas and Perez reportedly not seeing eye to eye.
Liverpool have been linked with Roma’s Brazilian keeper Alisson, with various sources claiming a bid has been lodged for the player, who is believed to be rated at £60million.
ESPN have even reported that personal terms have been agreed with Alisson in principle, however a transfer fee has yet to be agreed upon.
