Richarlison has explained why he was crying on the Watford bench during the victory over Chelsea.
The Hornets secured a much-needed 4-1 win over the Premier League champions on Monday evening.
Richarlison started the game but was substituted in the second half for Roberto Pereyra when Watford were leading 1-0 through Troy Deeney’s penalty.
Eden Hazard scored an equaliser for the Blues soon after but a ten-minute blitz from Watford, including a goal from Pereyra, saw them emerge victorious.
Richarlison was seen crying on the bench after being substituted, and explained that it was simply because he wants to help the team.
“I was crying because I wanted to play and help by team-mates,” he told ESPN Brasil.
“But in the end the guy that entered the pitch did the job well so it’s all okay.”
