Ronaldo issues support to injured ‘warrior’ Zlatan

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been backed to recover from his season-ending knee injury with a “warrior spirit”.

Ibrahimovic’s excellent debut season in the Premier League was curtailed after the striker suffered an ACL injury against Anderlecht in the Europa League last week.

The Swede is expected to be sidelined until at least January, and was even tipped by many to consider retirement as opposed to attempting to recover from a difficult injury at the age of 35.

But Ibrahimovic has vowed to fight back – be that at Old Trafford or elsewhere – and Brazilian legend Ronaldo has offered his support.

‘[You have] my positive thinking so that you have a good recovery, and come back even stronger,’ he posted on Instagram.

‘The force is in our will! You have my support, respect and admiration for facing the injury with this warrior spirit of overcoming adversity.’
