Ronaldo’s childhood nickname revealed: Cry-baby
Cristiano Ronaldo was nicknamed ‘cry-baby’ on the island of Madeira where he grew up, according to one of his old team-mates.
It comes as little surprise to anybody who has seen Ronaldo cry on many occasions and look close to tears even when somebody misplaces a pass.
It’s one of the things that sets him apart from Lionel Messi, according to Toby Sprigings.

Ricardo Sanchez, who played with him for amateur team CF Andorinha, has been telling tales to Reuters.
He was asked whether Ronaldo had a childhood nickname and he said: “Cry-baby, yes, because Ronaldo already loved to win like he loves today.
“And when he lost and when other kids didn’t pass the ball to him he used to cry.”
