Everton striker Wayne Rooney has described Romelu Lukaku as the “perfect player” for the current Manchester United team.
Rooney returned to the Toffees in the summer on a free transfer with his time on the pitch getting less and less under Jose Mourinho.
Lukaku moved in the opposite direction for £75million and has hit the ground running with four goals in his first four competitive matches for the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, Rooney has also started well at his new club with two goals in his first three Premier League appearances this term.
And Rooney, who recently retired from England duty, thinks that Lukaku will improve United this campaign.
“For that United side, he is the perfect player,” said Rooney.
“He is powerful, quick and strong and he scores goals, so certainly will improve that team.”
