‘Rooney holding out for agreeable Premier League offer’
Wayne Rooney isn’t interested in a move to China and wants to hold out for a Premier League transfer at the end of the season, according to reports.
There have been various conflicting reports this week, some suggesting that Rooney has decided to leave Manchester United before the end of the season and others backing him to wait until the summer.
The one thing that is clear from all the speculation is that Rooney’s time at Old Trafford is running out with only eight Premier League starts to his name this campaign.
The Independent claims that the United captain is holding out for an agreeable offer from a Premier League club at the end of the season and has no interest in a move to China.
Several Chinese Super League sides have been rumoured to be prepared to pay huge sums of money to lure the England international to Asia.
Told China is a "maybe" for Rooney at end of the season. Totally committed to United. No falling out with José. Highly unlikely to leave now

However, The Independent also understands that the striker would prefer to remain in England as he believes he still has a lot to offer at the top of the footballing pyramid.
Despite interest from a number of Premier League clubs, most would struggle to match Rooney’s wages and any deal seems a long way off.
Jose Mourinho has made known his desire for Rooney to stay in the past but on Tuesday he couldn’t guarantee that Rooney would still be at Old Trafford by the end of the season.
“You have to ask him,” Mourinho said.
“Of course I can’t guarantee [he will be here]. I can’t guarantee that I’m here next week, how can I guarantee that a player is here next season?”
