Rooney to miss Man United’s trip to Feyenoord

Wayne Rooney has been left out of Manchester United’s squad to take on Feyenoord in the Europa League.

Jose Mourinho is expected to ring the changes for Thursday nights clash, with the likes of Chris Smalling, Michael Carrick and Memphis Depay all hoping for their first starts of the season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and David de Gea will travel to Rotterdam, but Rooney, Antonio Valencia, Jesse Lingard and Luke Shaw are all absent.

Phil Jones, who is among a number of players yet to appear this season, missed training on Wednesday and will not travel, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan aggravated an injury in the Manchester derby.
