Roy Keane delivers withering assessment of Man City

Roy Keane says Manchester City showed “arrogance” and “disrespect” to Celtic on Tuesday.

City had already secured their progression from their Champions League group heading into their final fixture against Scottish champions Celtic, and fielded a weakened side at the Etihad Stadium.

Willy Caballero, Tosin Adarabioyo, Pablo Maffeo and Kelechi Iheanacho all started, as Pep Guardiola made nine changes to his starting line-up

The hosts secured a 1-1 draw in the dead rubber, but Keane was heavily critical of their approach.

“Their squad probably isn’t as good as maybe Manchester City think or even the manager,’ Keane told ITV.

“Obviously they knew they were already through but they showed a lot of disrespect to Celtic and Celtic were the slightly better team and could have gone on to win.”

“I thought the defending from Manchester City was absolutely shocking. They showed a lot of arrogance towards the game last night and perhaps disrespect to Celtic.”
