Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been nominated for the UEFA award given out to the best Champions League player of the week.
Salah scored Liverpool’s second goal in their 2-2 draw with Sevilla on Wednesday, although it did take a horrible deflection of Simon Kjaer.
Liverpool again looked fluid and fluent in attack, but were undermined by their defensive incompetence as they threw away their lead in the second half. Dejan Lovren has not made the UEFA shortlist.
Other Premier League players nominated for the award include Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane, who scored three goals between them in home victories over Basle and Borussia Dortmund respectively.
The UEFA list in full: Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain), Romelu Lukaku (Manchester United), James Rodriguez (Bayern Munich), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Taison (Shakhtar Donetsk) and Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid).
Just give it to Messi or Ronaldo every bloody week. Nobody will argue.
