Sanchez’s advisers claim City’s £44m bid rejected by Arsenal
Arsenal have rejected a £44million bid from Manchester City for forward Alexis Sanchez, according to the player’s advisers.
Rumours have been rife for months that Sanchez is set to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer with less than 12 months left on his current deal.
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are the two clubs that have reportedly been showing the most interest in the star and he recently missed the Gunners’ Premier League opener against Leicester City with an abdominal strain.
And the 28-year-old’s representatives have confirmed that the most “concrete” proposal has come from the Citizens.
“Manchester City’s last bid was €50m (£44m) and Arsenal rejected it,” a source told Chilean newspaper El Mercurio.
“Now the club are preparing a new offer to see if they can convince the people of Arsenal.”
PSG’s interest is thought to be less serious, though, with the advisers claiming it is just “speculation”.
“Everything that has been said about Paris Saint-Germain is speculation,” the source added.
“There is nothing real. The only concrete offer that exists for Alexis is City.”
