Mario Balotelli continues to struggle to find a new club, with Serie A outfit Sassuolo the latest to turn down the chance to sign the striker.

Liverpool forward Balotelli has been frozen out at Anfield and is among the Premier League players who have failed to even make the bench for their club this season.

The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at AC Milan, where he failed to impress, and has been linked with a host of clubs this summer.

“Mino Raiola [his agent] offered us Balotelli, but we refused,” Sassuolo chief executive Giovanni Carnevali told RaiSport’s Zona11pm show.

Turkish side Besiktas have also appeared to cool their interest in the Italy international.

Chairman Fikret Orman said: “Balotelli is a major star but a troubled player – he has got an image.”
