Alan Shearer believes that Arsenal must sign a “world-class striker” before they can win the Premier League.
Arsenal drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace on Sunday to virtually end their title hopes, with the Gunners now fourth in the table and 13 points behind leaders Leicester.
The Gunners have five games remaining, but manager Arsene Wenger is more concerned over their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.
Speaking to Match of the Day on BBC on Sunday night, Shearer explained how the club must sign a top striker if they wish to end their 12-year wait for a league title.
“They won’t win the league until they sign a top class, world-class striker, who can get 25 or 30 goals a season,” Shearer said.
“I’ve been saying all season that they’re at least two players, top players short, and my view hasn’t changed on that.
