Real Madrid are negotiating a deal to sign Paul Pogba, according to the Juventus midfielder’s agent.
Pogba is being courted by a number of Europe’s leading clubs after emerging as one of the finest midfielders in the world in Serie A.
The 23-year-old is currently playing in the European Championship with France, but clubs remain keen to prise him away from Juventus.
Speaking to Marca, his agent, Mino Raiola, admits one club in particular is leading the chase.
“We are in the initial phase of negotiations,” Raiola told MARCA of Real’s interest. “Pogba admires Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane and that will be very important when making his decision.
“Paul is worth what a club is prepared to pay for him,” he added.
Pogba has three years remaining on his contract in Turin, where he moved after leaving Manchester United in summer 2012.
He left Old Trafford after not being afforded enough chances with the first team under Sir Alex Ferguson, making just seven appearances in all competitions.
Since joining Juventus, his reputation has soared, and he is now valued at least £60m.
