‘Signing of the season’ Eder leaves Swansea

Lille have completed the permanent signing of Swansea striker Eder on a four-year contract following the Portugal international’s successful loan spell with the Ligue 1 club.

The 28-year-old, who moved to France in the January transfer window just six months after arriving from Braga for £5million, scored six goals in 13 matches while on loan.

“His signing is good for the present and the future of the Lille,” coach Frederic Antonetti told losc.fr.

“We learned to know and appreciate Eder and am very happy he now belongs to the club.

“He is a centre-forward who did a lot of good in our offence, a warrior, and we needed this profile.”

Eder failed to score in 13 appearances for Swansea, only two of which were Premier League starts.

Matt Stead tipped the striker as a potential signing of the season back in the summer. He was only slightly joking. Idiot.
