Silkmen claim victory over Bees

The Bees came into the game in second spot but forced only one save all afternoon from Macc keeper Jon Brain.
Macclesfield, however, created a string of chances and netted in the 13th minute when Gareth Evans stroked home from 15 yards only to be judged offside.
Winger Danny Thomas forced a sharp reaction save from Ben Hamer with a stinging volley after 42 minutes but was left stranded in first-half injury time when on-loan striker Emile Sinclair nodded the ball over his head before easily planting home his first for the club.
The Cheshire side added a second on 56 minutes when Ryan Dickson brought down Izak Reid for Evans to slot home his seventh of the season with a confident spot-kick.
Brentford only had one chance with Mark Phillips’ 10-yard header easily saved by Brain in the closing stages but stayed second in the table, albeit only on goal difference from Bury and Gillingham.
