Bilic: Zlatan wouldn’t consider West Ham – yet

Slaven Bilic has reacted to claims that West Ham are plotting a summer move for veteran Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Sweden forward – one of whoscored’s five best veterans in Europe – has never played in the Premier League during an illustrious career but has reportedly emerged as a target for the Hammers as they bid to mark their move to the new Olympic Stadium in the summer.

Bilic admits the player would be a fantastic signing for West Ham. but fears the club do not have a big enough reputation to lure the player.

Speaking to the London Evening Standard, Bilic said: “I see we have been linked next season with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Yes, we are ambitious and we are determined to progress. To be realistic, though, we are not yet a club who those kind of players would consider.”

Bilic would certainly love a player of Ibrahimovic’s quality at West Ham, but he is staying realistic and admitting that any move for the Swedish striker is highly improbable.

Ibrahimovic is out-of-contract at PSG this summer, and there will be a big rush for his signature at the end of the season.
