Son of Robert Pires signs for Arsenal academy
The son of former Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires has signed for the club’s academy system.
Seven-year-old Theo signed for the club on Saturday, with Pires posting a picture of his son on social media.
Pires played 189 Premier League games for Arsenal between 2000 and 2006, scoring 62 goals. During his time at the club he won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups, also part of the side that lost to Barcelona in the Champions League final in 2006. He was substituted after 18 minutes following the sending off of Jens Lehmann. It was his last game for the club.
“That’s it ! Theo signed for the Arsenal Academy!!! Well done son!!!! #proud,” Pires wrote on Instagram. Nothing loves exclamation marks quite as much as an Instagram poster.
