Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has ended speculation over his future by signing a new contract until 2021.
The German has been relentlessly linked with a big-money move to Manchester United and the Premier League giants were reportedly set to offer whatever it took to land the star.
However, the 26-year-old – who is enjoying one of his best campaigns in the Bundesliga with 13 goals to his name – decided to commit his future to the Bundesliga side.
“I come from the area, I’ve been here 15 years and of course I’m delighted,” Muller said in an interview with Bayern’s television channel, FCB TV.
“I am proud and happy that I have extended my contract.”
Bayern have also extended the contracts of Jerome Boateng and Javi Martinez until 2021 and Xabi Alonso until 2017.
Alonso’s current deal was up at the end of the season, but he will now remain at the Allianz after proving his worth with a stunning goal against Darmstadt in midweek.
