The Saints’ player-coach was punished retrospectively for his elbow on Aidan Connolly during last week’s 3-0 defeat at Dundee United .
Midfielder John McGinn missed the Tannadice game with a knee problem, which is again expected to keep him out against Thistle.
Ellis Plummer (groin) will be handed a late test while Isaac Osbourne (shin), Steven Thompson and Gregg Wylde (both groin) all remain on the sidelines.
Thistle’s Stuart Bannigan sits out the visit to St Mirren Park after losing his appeal against his recent red card in the League Cup match at Celtic Park.
Kallum Higginbotham (knee) is expected to feature while Sean Welsh has picked up a knock and will be given a late check.
Gary Fraser is pushing for involvement after two months out with a knee injury while Stephen O’Donnell could also return after missing last week’s 3-3 draw at Hamilton.
