John Stones believes that the form of Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has been key to their positive start.
City earned a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk to maintain their perfect record in the Champions League this season, and top the Premier League table after six games.
Across nine games in all competitions they have conceded just three goals, much of which has been down to summer signing Ederson.
The keeper joined from Benfica in a £34.9m fee, a move which was chastised at the time.
Stones believes the Brazilian has proved his doubters wrong.
“It’s credit to him,” Stones said. “It’s not easy coming from another country. I wouldn’t know that but from speaking to the boys in the past who have come over to the Premier League, it’s a different culture, different language, and he’s settled quickly.
“He’s speaking to us on the pitch – he’s a vocal presence and a presence as a person, which is credit to him.”
