Daniel Sturridge has confirmed that he has suffered another injury at Liverpool as part of ‘God’s master plan’.
Reports broke late on Tuesday evening that Sturridge, who has played just six games so far this season due to injury problems, faces a spell on the sidelines due to a fresh problem with his hamstring.
Sturridge picked up the injury during his cameo as a second-half substitute against Newcastle on Sunday, with the England international having missed 58 games through injury since joining the Reds in January 2013.
Manager Jurgen Klopp said last week that Sturridge must learn what is “serious pain” and what is “only pain”, with this current setback representing Sturridge’s eighth separate injury during his Liverpool career.
There is no set timescale with regards to Sturridge’s return, but most outlets are reporting that he is targeting a return within ‘weeks’, which would likely rule him out of Liverpool’s festive fixtures. The Reds have 11 games between now and the end of January.
