Szczesny heading back to Arsenal after talks stall
Wojciech Szczesny will return to Arsenal after Euro 2016 after talks broke down with Roma about another loan spell.
The Polish keeper spent last season in Serie A and Roma have expressed an interest in an extended stay, but the Gunners are reportedly unwilling to subsidise his wages for a second season.
The Guardian claims ‘the goalkeeper has two years to run on his Arsenal contract and he is expected to be offered a new one, even if the London club were to loan him again next season’.
Szczesny himself has said: “Arsenal and Roma are talking but I don’t want to worry about it now.
“Whether I’m an Arsenal player or a Roma player right now, it makes no difference to me. I want to focus on this tournament.”
