Wojciech Szczesny admits he would rather Leicester City win the Premier League than his parent club Arsenal.
The goalkeeper is currently on a season-long loan at Roma after falling down the pecking order at Arsenal following the summer arrival of Petr Cech.
And Szczesny has told Sky Sports in Italy that he wants to see Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes finish top this term.
“No one in football can explain the Leicester miracle,” he said
“Even though I support Arsenal in the Premier League, I’d like to see Ranieri’s side win it. They’re an example and an inspiration to everyone. It’s exciting to watch them play.”
While Szczesny has revealed his desire to make his loan deal at Roma permanent, the 25-year-old’s future remains unclear ahead of next season.
“Everyone knows I’m really happy here. I’d like to be able to tell you about my future, but I don’t know what it holds for me,” he added.
“I’ve expressed my intentions to the two clubs and now it’s up to them. I have to decide what’s best for my career.”
