Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored a brilliant chip as Arsenal kicked off their pre-season friendlies with a a 1-1 draw against Lens.

Arsene Wenger was missing those involved in Euro 2016 and the Copa America but could still name the likes of Theo Walcott, Per Mertesacker, Alex Iwobi, Mohamed Elneny and Nacho Monreal at the Stade Felix-Bollaert Delelis.

Nevertheless it was the Ligue 2 side that took the lead through Mathias Autret in the 37th minute, Calum Chambers being punished for a tame headed clearance.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, one of six half-time substitutes, grabbed the equaliser in style eight minutes from time with a delicate chip.

The Gunners head across the Atlantic next and will face an MLS All-Stars XI on July 29.
