The title? Ambitious Spurs will not set limits

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino refused to limit his side to a target as they sit just five points off the top of the Premier League.

Spurs outplayed Arsenal on Sunday but eventually had to settle for a 1-1 draw as playing three games in seven days began to take its toll.

Asked if he felt that tiredness was an issue as they threatened to throw away all three points in the last 13 minutes of the game, Pochettino said: “Maybe yes but it’s normal to feel tired.

“We need to feel very proud. I can’t speak about the Tottenham that you have seen before but I am very happy with the way that we develop our philosophy. This was a very good example of the way we want to play.

“I am very pleased. The effort of my players was brilliant. In the end we deserved more but it was a very busy week. We showed maturity. It’s a very young team. What can we achieve? I don’t know. It’s impossible to set a limit. But we are very ambitious.”

Tottenham are just three points behind fourth-placed Manchester United and have now crept ahead of Liverpool in the betting for a top-four place.
