Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has denied rumours suggesting he will follow Pep Guardiola to Manchester City.
Guardiola is leaving Bayern at the end of the season to take over at City and many of his current players have been linked with the same move.
But former Barcelona star Thiago, who signed a new four-year contract with the Bundesliga giants in August, has dismissed suggestions he could take the same path as his current coach.
“There are always a lot of rumours. It’s a fact that Guardiola is joining Manchester City and we have to respect that,” Thiago is quoted in Bild. “But there is no truth in the rumours saying I will follow him.
“I would not have signed a new contract had I wanted to leave the club. I extended my contract for a reason.”
