Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has likened himself to Thierry Henry and claims the France legend inspired him to join Arsenal.
The Gabon international secured a £56million deadline day move to the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund after weeks of speculation.
The 28-year-old has bagged 13 goals in 16 Bundesliga appearances this term after finishing last campaign as the league’s top scorer.
And Aubameyang is expected to wear the No.14 shirt and the striker wants to follow in Henry’s footsteps at the Emirates Stadium.
When asked what had attracted him to Arsenal, Aubameyang said: “I think the club has such a big history and great players like Thierry Henry. He’s an example for us strikers. I’m really happy, like I said before.
“[Henry] was fast and scored a lot of goals. He’s really an example.
“I’m a fast player and I score goals too, like Henry a little bit. But as I said, I have to work a lot more.”
