Tony Pulis rules out signing Arsenal defender

Tony Pulis says that West Brom won’t be signing Kieran Gibbs because he doesn’t fit the way they play. He’s not a central defender.

West Brom had been one of a number of clubs reportedly interested in Gibbs, who is not needed at Arsenal.

Brighton and Swansea have also been mentioned, with Newcastle’s interest waning after they signed Florian Lejeune.

A recent report claimed that West Brom had had a “10m bid for Gibbs rejected, but Pulis denied that.

“We won’t be signing Kieran Gibbs,” Pulis told Sky Sports.

“We have to look for players that fit what we want to do and the way we want to play.

“We have three or four other targets we are desperate for.

“We are juggling with two at the moment and that’s not Gibbs.

“Hopefully by the time we get back home we will have done those two.”
