Mauricio Pochettino was coy when asked about speculation regarding Serge Aurier’s move to Tottenham.
Aurier has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with both Chelsea and Manchester United previously interested.
It was claimed by French newspaper L’Equipe that Aurier had undergone a medical in north London earlier this week ahead of a £23million move.
Pochettino was asked about the rumours on Friday, but was quick to shoot them down.
“That is a rumour. We can confirm nothing until something happens,” he said.
“There are many, many players like always in the media. But you know I can confirm nothing.
“I never speak about rumours. Always my full respect goes to other clubs or players that are maybe in negotiations with us or others.”
When asked whether the speculation over Aurier was more concrete, he replied: “We will see. Like I told you before, I don’t like to speak about rumours.”
According to the football odds offered by Irish bookie Paddy Power, Spurs are the fifth favourites for the title this year at 16/1, despite finishing runners up last season.
