Hull are hoping to secure the singing of Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell on loan for the remainder of the season.
Powell has made only nine appearances in the first team at Old Trafford since joining from Crewe for £6million. The 21-year-old scored on his debut against Wigan in September 2012 before later joining the Latics on loan.
Louis van Gaal then sent the attack-minded midfielder to Leicester on loan for the 2013-14 season but the agreement was terminated when Powell struggled to win a place in Nigel Pearson’s side.
Powell came off the bench during United’s defeats to Wolfsburg and Bournemouth earlier this season, but his contract expires at the end of the season, with United unlikely to offer him a new deal.
Hull boss Steve Bruce has been in negotiations with his former club this week over a loan deal for Powell, with an agreement set to come before Monday’s deadline.
