Norwich City have confirmed that striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel has joined Spanish Primera Division side Real Betis on a season-long loan deal.
The Dutch striker has struggled for form since his club-record £8.5m move from Sporting Lisbon in March 2013. It was an impressive strike rate of 45 goals in 88 games for the Portuguese side that attracted the East Anglia side to splash the cash on the 26-year-old, a record which he has failed to live up to.
After just one goal in 25 league appearances for the Canaries in the 2013-2014 campaign, he spent last season on loan at Saint-Ettiene in the French Ligue 1, netting a paltry five goals in 24 games.
"Norwich City striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel has joined Spanish Primera Division side Real Betis on loan until the end of the 2015-16 season," Norwich confirmed on their website.
