Stoke City striker Jon Walters has signed a new two-and-a-half-year contract with the Premier League club.

Walters, 32, rejected a previous contract offer from the Potters, who turned down a £1.5m offer from rivals Norwich for the player in the summer.

But Stoke announced on Saturday the Merseyside-born Republic of Ireland international had now put pen to paper on a new deal.

Walters has scored two goals in seven Premier League appearances this season.

The forward has made over 200 appearances in all competitions for Stoke since joining them in 2010 from Ipswich, scoring 54 goals.
