Arsene Wenger has joked that Arsenal have been “silently” spying on Watford ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.
Arsenal face the Hornets as they continue their quest to win a third consecutive FA Cup – they would become the first side since the 19th century to do so.
The training grounds of the two sides reside next to one another, and Wenger was asked before the game whether he had sent drones to spy on his next opponents. “Yes, all week. Silent ones,” the Frenchman replied.
“They have done extremely well,” Wenger continued. “The Championship teams that come up now do well.”
“Our record shows we try to do well,” Wenger said, with his side third in the Premier League. “Everyone tries to do well in the FA Cup.
“Is it the best chance to win a trophy this season? It is too early to say.
“I think in my job you give the best in every single game. We have opportunity on Sunday to win.”
Wenger stated that Hector Bellerin, Gabriel and Per Mertesacker should all be fit to face Watford, but had more to say on Aaron Ramsey, who suffered an injury in the last round against Hull.
Wenger said: “The clinical signs are quite positive. I would say four weeks.”
