Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claims he is “not fearful” of losing Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window.
The Chilean – who is out of contract in the summer – scored twice as the Gunners beat Crystal Palace 3-2 in the Premier League on Thursday.
And Wenger admits that although the Sanchez subject is bound to come up over the next month, he isn’t scared that he will lose the 29-year-old.
“I am not fearful but as you said that will be a subject that arises because of his contractual situation,” Wenger told Sky Sports. “I can only repeat what I said until now.”
On the performance against Palace, Wenger added: “Overall it was a convincing win even though in the second half it was harder than the first,” Wenger told Sky Sports. “We found the resources to score two great goals and from then we never gave up.
“You want to win the game no matter how you suffer in the end. We did that.
“We gained composure. We have come here and it is a difficult game for everyone in the league. We suffered a bit but for the biggest part of the game we played well.”
