Arsene Wenger believes new Arsenal signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan is “a box to box player”.
Mkhitaryan joined earlier this week from Manchester United in a player-exchange deal with Alexis Sanchez.
He will hope to thrive in north London after failing to establish himself under Jose Mourinho.
Wenger feels his best position could be as a box to box midfielder, which is weird.
“I think he can play in all midfield positions,” he said. “Box to box, not in a defensive role.
“All the other positions aren’t out of reach.
“He has usually been a wide player and can absorb the role as a winger, playmaker but he can be a box to box player.
“He is a great footballer. I will know more about him in 2-3 days as we prepare and find out the best position for him.
“It doesn’t look like there will be any problems.”
On whether the Armenian could make his debut against Swansea on Tuesday, Wenger added: “I haven’t decided yet.
“We will decide on Monday but he is available.”
