Arsene Wenger says that he will be busy in the January transfer window, but it’s not quite what Arsenal supporters will want to hear.
Arsenal face the prospect of losing Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, but not until next summer. January affords them an opportunity to improve the squad ahead of those departures and with a top-four place up for grabs.
Yet Wenger hardly convinced that he is likely to invest significantly, saying he would be busy because clubs want his players rather than the other way round.
“I will be busy yes because first of all you have clubs who call you to get players on loan or to buy your players,” Wenger said.
“I am open-minded on any possibility to strengthen our team.”
Pretty sure Arsenal fans are looking for proaction, Arsene. Rather than you focusing on those who might leave and taking things that might fall into your lap.
