Jack Wilshere will play his first competitive football of the season when Arsenal’s Under-21s play Newcastle on Friday night.
The England midfielder fractured his fibula before the start of the season and is now finally ready to return – with half an eye on playing for England at Euro 2016.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has issued an injury update ahead of Saturday’s visit to West Ham and revealed that Aaron Ramsey could play some part in that game.
“We have a similar squad, everyone should be available who played against Watford,” Wenger said. “Ramsey could join in because he had a good training session yesterday. Flamini is available, Wilshere and Rosicky will play on Friday night.
“Oxlade-Chamberlain is still coming back with fitness and he will train with Cazorla. The injury situation is quite positive.”
Wenger continued on Wilshere: “Ideally I would have loved to have him available for the whole season.
“I am a bit cautious because of history, lets not rush it too much. He will have a big part in the game tomorrow night and hopefully he will come through it well.”
